THAI ISLAND ECO-RESORT ON 32 ACRES WITH 1.25km BEACHFRONT

THAI ISLAND ECO-RESORT ON 32 ACRES WITH 1.25km BEACHFRONT

A Thai Company, successful eco-resort and 32 acres of beachfront land on a tropical island all for the price of a luxury villa in Phuket!

Investment opportunities like this one don’t come around very often. Indeed this Company is being offered for sale for the first time in 22 years. The Resort is thriving, with steadily increasing revenues and healthy profits.

THE LAND

This is a magical place for investors as well as guests. Local land value has risen 500% in the past seven years.

Described as the most stunning privately owned beachfront land anywhere north of Phuket, the Resort sits on a peninsula with two pristine beaches and a total of 1,250 metres of beachfront.

Half of the land, though owned by the Company, is leased to private Members who abide by land use and building regulations stipulated by the Company, while the other 16 acres is open for further development. This land currently serves as parkland and cultivated gardens, replete with trees, plants and a freshwater pond.

Titled beachfront land for sale on the island is a scarce resource and prices are set to escalate dramatically.

THE RESORT

As well as being ranked the #1 in the Thai holiday province of Phang Nga, Golden Buddha Beach Resort earned a Certificate of Excellence from Trip Advisor in May 2011 and is also rated an exceptional 90% on the hip travel site i-escape.

This full service eco-resort has minimum impact on the environment and makes a positive contribution towards local culture.

The focal point of the Resort is a two storey Clubhouse with restaurant, bar, shop and library. Other Company assets include a staff house for 27 people, a new four bedroom managers’ house, an office building and internet centre, kitchens, yoga sala, pagoda and a beachfront dive shop.

Accommodation is provided in 25 detached villas which are owned by Members and rented out to guests by the Company. Villas are constructed using locally sourced and renewable materials and each is set in its own 1,600 sq.m garden. Villas vary from simple one-bedroom beachfront houses to luxury forest canopied lodges and all are within 80 metres of the beach.

Most guests choose the Resort as a perfect place to just chill. Other popular guest activities on offer include yoga, scuba diving and snorkeling, kayaking, jungle trekking, mangrove tours, local safaris, cultural tours, Golden Buddha Spa and cooking classes.

THE ISLAND

As the nesting site for 137 species of beautiful and colourful birds, the island is one of the best locations for bird watching in Thailand.

It is also a diver's dream, the Resort being the closest point to the spectacular world top ten diving site Richelieu Rock (35 km) and the Surin Islands (60 km), both easily accessible by boat. Friendly whale sharks, dolphins and the rare dudong (sea cow) swim offshore.

Remarkably, apart from one road and some dirt tracks, the Island is still undeveloped. There is still an opportunity for an investor to get in on the ground before electricity comes to the island next year and with it, higher land prices.

The island is the most attractive of an archipelago of three islands, with the mountainous Koh Ra immediately to the north (covered with primary rainforest) and the flat, more developed Koh Kho Khao immediately to the south.

The east coast of the island is covered by estuaries and mangroves, the centre is mostly gorgeous savannah with spots of forest and occasional freshwater ponds, while the west coast features the spectacular 10km long Golden Buddha Beach which is the main attraction.

There are no more than 500 inhabitants on the whole Island, living in three small villages populated by Thai, Moklen (the nomadic people of the Andaman coast of Thailand and southern Burma) and the Moken (the people commonly referred to as sea gypsies from the north Andaman coasts of Thailand and Burma). The Resort owners and staff have developed cordial, cooperative relationships with the local population and have taught nature conservation in the local schools.

GETTING THERE

Koh Phra Thong lies between its famous developed neighbours Phuket (60 miles to the south) and Koh Chang (50 miles to the north).

An excellent road (the Phuket Ranong highway) runs from Phuket airport to Kuraburi pier in a little over two hours, or from Ranong airport in one hour. The Resort is reached by long-tailed boat from the mainland Kuraburi pier in 90 mins.
